Following on from the bands cathartic last outing ‘Manchester’, funk laden indie trio Vacant Weekend serve up their latest single ‘Do I Don’t You’ on Manchester based indie Cosmic Glue.

Building on support from previous outings that has seen the band championed by Chris Hawkins on BBC Radio 6 Music, in addition to hosting a recent interview with the band at Cosmic Glue’s newly formed creative studios, Vacant Weekend round up the year with a beautifully rhythmic sonic tapestry described by the band as bubblegum-pop.

With a skillfully crafted instrumental that calls back to the bands funk routes ‘Do I Don’t You’ perfectly contrasts light funk driven instrumentation with heavy lyrical subject matter, exploring themes of gender dysphoria and struggles with mental health.
